This mural was painted on a glass window of a local Yoga and Tai Chi studio. Its purpose is to attract people from the surrounding shopping area. The three silhouettes depict people practicing the healing arts the studio offers.
The owners wanted large, minimalist images which wouldn't distract people with detail and simultaneously clearly show the nature of the studio.
The silhouettes are outlined with black and white lines, making it visible both when the white window curtains are drawn, and when they're open. The technique also makes the mural visible from the inside the studio against the busy background of trees and flowers outside.
In this way, the mural becomes a part of the internal and external space, inviting people and various external elements to become a part of it, framing the activity within its silhouettes.
The most challenging part of this project was working directly on a glass surface with smooth liquid paint without creating streaks or leaks outside of the line. The mural was painted on the inside of the studio to prevent it from being affected by weather.
