This month we are celebrating the idea of giving & receiving. These two actions are inseparable! For example, when we sit in meditation and focus all our attention on giving love or giving kindness, the reaction from "outer" world is inevitable. Whether we expect it or not, good flows to us even if we try to reject it (sometimes we might). The universe with various creatures in it responds accordingly. The very action of breath is a perfect example of goodness flowing into our lives, because we continuously supplied by one of the most fundamental substances - air.
On the other hand if it feels hard to simply give, take a moment to heal and receive for a while.... until a natural reaction of unconditional giving arises in your heart.
Let practice the giving and receiving more closely this month. Is there a little part in our hearts that resists this flow? Can we listen to it unconditionally?
Join me & my friend Anjali this Saturday 5 November at 1 pm for a fundraising class. We will be co-teaching a special by-donation yoga class at Santa Fe Community Yoga Center (826 Camino de Monte Rey, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505).
This class will be all about the sacred element of water and is open to all levels of yoga practitioners. You will experience fluid creative sequences from two experienced yogis.
Class will be set to the sounds of streams, rain, singing birds and live singing bowls played by both teachers (sometimes placed on students' bodies!) In addition, we will create a special water mandala made from crystals to focus and resonate our energy to help the warriors in North Dakota.
We will also have home-brewed chai, donated by our dear friend and student, Norman Lee. So, bring your chai mugs and fill up!
All donations will directly support the Standing Sioux Tribe in their efforts to stop the construction of the DAPL. Flowing together, let's celebrate that water is life!
Namaste & See you in class!
