Hi, my name is Viktoria Shushan (200 Hrs E-RYT, BA Hons Architecture). I am an international yoga teacher with 10 years of teaching experience (+5000 hours). I am also a professional artist specializing in mixed media painting, outdoor & indoor murals. Check out my murals page: for indoor and outdoor murals around Santa Fe! Or commission a very special, unique art of work for your home or office.

What I am doing now

Currently I am staying in Santa Fe with my husband, comparative religions scholar and author Dr. Gregory Shushan. I am working on painting and mural commissions as well as my graphic novel about growing up in Russia during the fall of the Soviet Union.

And I am teaching yoga: in a private setting, on skype or for groups. See my schedule.

More about yoga

My yoga style is fun, creative and challenging, incorporating many asanas, mudras, sacred geometry meditations, singing bowl baths and Infinity Aum chanting.

“Viktoria is a special teacher, and I have learned a tremendous amount from her. She is positive, joyful and gentle. Viktoria encourages you to experiment with yoga, and let your inner voice be your guide. That “simple” idea has reinvigorated my practice.” Bob Hahn, Oxford University

I have taught in the UK (including Oxford University locations), Eastern Europe & Middle East, bringing yoga and better life quality to people in different parts of the world.

I like to integrate my formal yoga training with my own innovations and discoveries into an original teaching style, drawing upon my architectural and fine arts background.

My formal Vinyasa teacher training was done with Shiva Rea, Dr. Elena Voyce, Mark Freeth, Kathryn Ellis, Swami Saradananda, Jesse Saunders, Camille Litalien, Nita Shah, Tina Hardy and Barbara Helisova. Other teachers who have inspired her and influenced her style are Jeff Phenix, Ana Forrest, Deepa Moodgal, Olof Kujit and Edgars Tarkanijs.

I've also studied some of the world’s spiritual, mystical texts ranging from Krishnamacharya, B.K.S. Iyengar and Desikachar, to Rumi and Hafiz, to Louise Hay, Eckhart Tolle, and Thich Nhat Hanh.
